This cable knit turtleneck is a personal favorite of Todd’s. There’s a lot of mythology surrounding the origin of this type of sweater, but despite their timeless look, they’re a surprisingly recent innovation, making the scene in the late 19th century. The tradition began in the Aran islands, just off of Ireland’s west coast, where locals knit thickly “cabled” sweaters to keep fishermen warm on the water. We’ve made a few updates to ours: for one, it’s not knit from the scratchy, oiled wool a classic fisherman’s sweater might use — this yarn is a much more luxurious wool blend that includes super-soft baby alpaca. The stitch is exaggerated, creating a beautiful, dimensional pattern; the soft cream color goes with anything. Wear it with the turtleneck rolled down, or unfolded for a chic, slouchy look.

Soft, beautiful sweater

I absolutely loved it but it fit too large for me. Otherwise it is a fantastic sweater.
