This chic pant combines a few of Todd’s favorite things — the fit and detailing of our Favorite Chino plus the ease and comfort of our Drawstring Madison, all reimagined in a sartorial, made-for-the-season fabric. Doeskin is a soft, thick cotton fabric; think of it more or less as a heavier version of durable moleskin. The silhouette is clean and streamlined, with minimal detailing, making these trousers versatile enough to wear professionally or casually — perfect for work, the weekend or whatever.
Tucked away in the heart of the Alps, the family-run Tessuti di Sondrio mill was founded in 1895 and is one of Italy’s most revered cotton fabric weavers.
The fabric on this trousers is amazing. Soft and luxurious. They are really comfortable and go with everything. The elastic waistband can be hidden and if worn with a belt, no one can tell it is there. Ideal winter pants. Sell them in olive or brown or black and I'll buy those too.
I ordered these in both the grey and the navy. The drawstring is handy and when used internally can give a better fit than most belts with their hole spacing. It also means you don't have to worry as much about the quite variable sizing I find with many trousers here. The notable thing for me about these trousers though is the color - I guess "grey" is a fine description, but some might see them as an ecru/light taupe. The upshot is that they can be paired with virtually anything. It's like the O-positive of color.
