It's of good quality
The design is more sophisticated than expected and the quality of the fabric is excellent, so I think I will wear it often this winter.
And it's lighter than I thought, so I'm more satisfied
Also, the size is standard.

Inspired by vintage mountaineering gear, this parka will keep you warm in the face of winter’s worst. The Japanese nylon exterior is water repellent, with a quilted duck down clocking in at 700 fill power (ie. super warm, but not too bulky). Fill, if you were wondering, measures how many cubic inches of loft a single ounce of down produces — the higher the fill, the greater the insulating efficiency. Aside from packing serious heat, our Mid Down Parka is loaded with old-school design details, including two oversized patch-and-flap pockets with hidden hand warmer pockets and a stand collar at the hood (to shut the cold out). In short: wear this coat to stay warm and look stylish…even in a polar vortex.

The good:
1) very warm! Tested it in temperatures as low as 10 fahrenheit and it supplied optimal insualtion.
2) it is not heavy and feels light on the body.
3) quality Japanese fabric
The not-so-good:
1) Sleeves are short. If you are >6 feet tall expect your wrists to be exposed to the elements if you wear size M or smaller.
2) size M coat does not hit mid-thigh as it supposed to if you are >6” ft tall.
3) runs true to size on the shoulders but oversized on the body. That might be to accommodate layers but with such warm coat you don't really need many layers underneath. The chest and waist could have been little bit smaller for a more streamlined silhouette.
4) the waist cincher is made from low quality material and broke after using it couple of times to cinch the coat’s waist. More rugged materials needed there.
5) not waterproof (water repellent at best). Be careful not to wear in extreme wet conditions. Have a gore-tex shell would have been nice to be able to use the coat without an umbrella in cold rainy days.
Conclusion: solid very warm coat. Worth it at the sale price but not if you pay retail price.
I picked up this parka during the last sale and ended up getting this ~almost $1000 coat for a little over $200. Best deal of my life, the structure is incredibly well made, it fits perfectly and the built in neck warmer is a great feature. I feel like I could go hunting for the secrets in national treasure in the Arctic with nic Cage in this thing and I'd be warm as little polar bear. 10/10 will be crusading in the Chicago winter with this on
The fit is amazing (order your normal size). The style is timeless and the quality is impeccable. It’s super warm as well. I wore it today to drop my kid at school and it was 25 degrees in NYC. I wore only a hoodie underneath and I was totally fine and actually sweating a little when I got home. Highly recommend you won’t regret it.
