The perfect coat combines elements of military dress with classical tailoring, so that the wearer stays warm and dry while looking stylish. Case in point: this Solid Peacoat. The silhouette is based on the classic navy reefer jacket from a century ago — the large lapels could be popped up and closed with a throat latch to seal a mariner in from the elements. Todd has kept these old-school elements and then given everything a luxe upgrade in a chic Italian fabric made from a soft, plush blend of wool and alpaca. Design details include two flap pockets at the wearer’s waist and then two slanted, hand-warmer pockets closer to the chest, as well as tabs at the sleeves that allow the wearer to adjust the aperture of the cuffs.
Absolutely love this coat. Glad I was able to try on in store. I’m 6’2” and 175 lbs. Typically a 42 jacket, although I need a tailor to get the sleeves the right length. Anyway, to my surprise the small fit me best. This jacket (and most from TS) run large.
