Inspired by a vintage British military style, our modern update to the Gurkha Trouser is a bestseller. It’s crafted from flannel woven by Vitale Barberis Canonico, an Italian mill founded in 1663 outside of Turin. For nearly 400 years, they’ve been the kings of worsted wool fabrics, and this is no exception; soft and fluid, the flannel has an incredible drape. Design details include a double-pleated front and an adjustable, self-belted cummerbund-style waist that’s meant to sit slightly higher than a typical pant would. The fit is relaxed through the upper section of the trouser and tailored through the leg. The beauty of the Gurkha is that its structure and shape instantly dress up any outfit, whether you’re wearing it with a shirt jacket and loafers or a tee and sneakers.

Runway Collection:
La Buena Vida | Vintage Style

Todd’s Spring/Summer 26 runway collection balances structured tailoring and soft sensuality, inspired by the faded glamour of Havana in the 50s and the swagger of a guy stepping off a plane in Miami in the 80s.

The sweaters in La Buena Vida are all inspired by mid-century styles, layering in different old-school details: an extra tab closure at the hem, tapered waists, extended collars, vintage-inspired patterns, and more.

Great fun design with a small flaw

The design is different and fun. I don't like belts so a design that avoids them gets a nod in my book. The fabric is fantastic. As another reviewer mentioned, the flannel is not heavy. No question there. But it's a super flannel. In fact I bought a second pair in a different color because I liked the flannel so much.

So the caveat? It's the belt buckle. The prong can move from the center hole off to the side of the fabric forming the belt. With a belt this wouldn't matter, but, because the buckle is well off to the right side it can be hard to get it back in without taking the pants off. Ugh. Also the buttons can take a bit getting used to. Together the buttons and belt make getting the pants buttoned up and belted on more difficult.

Does this really knock the pants down from a 5 to a 4? Probably not. I bought another pair so there is that. But for some people it might be. If in doubt get a pair and give them a try. You can return them.

As indicated in the size guide, sizing is a little smaller than other Todd Snyder pants. Maybe a quarter of an inch or a cm? Not a lot and totally consistent with the size guide.
