As elegant as casual gets, our Madison Suit Jacket represents the epitome of soft tailoring. Both easy-wearing and sharp, it’s what the Italian courtier, diplomat, and author Baldassare Castiglione must have had in mind when he coined the term sprezzatura to describe effortless nonchalance. The fabric is an Italian linen herringbone with just the right amount of texture, in the perfect, wear-with-anything shade of dove gray. It has a classic fit, with a natural shoulder and a slightly nipped-in waist. Details include a double vent in the back and a lightweight butterfly lining. There’s also a chest pocket known as a barchetta (Italian for “little boat”) because the sleek curvature of the pocket resembles a small skiff. Oh, and did we mention there are matching pants available, too?
The fabric for this jacket comes from Subalpino. Founded in 1975, Subalpino is a family-owned mill in the Northern Italian region of Piedmont with an unwavering commitment to quality.
