Bad Pattern or Miscut?
First off, I want to say I’m a Todd Snyder super fan. I have owned no fewer than 100 Todd Snyder pieces starting when Todd first launched his own label. I wear a couple of decade old TS pieces to this day. In other words, my bias is strongly in favor of TS stuff being great.
Even more specifically, I own three different pairs of classic fit items from last year’s FW collection. They are my favorite fitting pants currently in my closet. Unfortunately, this year’s classic fit seems to have a bad pattern and/or the factory is screwing up their production of 33/32 pants. I have now purchased two different styles of 33/32 classic fit denim in the past month and both are 2+ inches bigger in the waist than the pairs I purchased last year. I tried to size down to 32/32, but the 32/32 seemed to be cut properly and was a little too snug. There was a roughly 3” difference in the waist between the 32/32 and 33/32.
The positive is the fabric on these jeans is fantastic. It feels substantial without being overly stiff or raw. The amount of stretch is just right. If you can find the proper fit for you, I highly recommend them.
