Our classic Camp Collar Shirt gets a unique update in a limited-edition collab with The Metropolitan Museum of Art. Todd’s reimagined the traditional silhouette with a boxier, ever-so-slightly cropped fit and a silky tencel fabric, resulting in a shirt that’s meant to drape well and show off your trousers. The shorter length also serves to balance the collaged print in a chic, modern way. Cypresses began to appear in Vincent van Gogh’s (Dutch, 1853–1890) work in the summer of 1889; he regarded this particular horizontal composition,Wheat Field with Cypresses (1889), as one of his “best” summer landscapes.
As part of its mission to bring art to life, The Metropolitan Museum of Art invited Todd to design a series of wearable works of art. “The colors and brushstrokes of Van Gogh feel incredibly modern, incredibly relevant,” says Todd of the permanent collection pieces he chose to adapt for this unique collaboration.
