Italian Velvet Tailored Chore Coat in Brass

As is always the case with TS, the quality is excellent. This is a very nice dress casual jacket in a lush, warm velour. I purchased the brass color, expecting it would be a dark gold like in the pictures. Unfortunately, it is olive green in daylight and sort of a brownish taupe indoors. Not the warm color palate I was hoping for. Additionally, if I were to keep it, I would have added pads to the shoulders. The construction is boxy, which looks right and compliments the pockets, but there is a big gap at the tips of the shoulders and no structure to support them, so they dimple and look deflated when worn. Somewhat unflattering. (And I have huge shoulders--I'm a bodybuilder.) Overall, I would really like this one if it were in a warm tone.

The previous reviewer is correct that in person there is a green tinge in some light but its a great looking chore coat regardless. Im keeping it because I think it looks great but you should be aware that the color is a bit off from the listing photo.

Brass is not really brass or brown, it is more of a muted olive and changes depending on lighting. Feel somewhat misled by the photos on the site. However, the coat itself is lovely to touch and wear.

I got the green version of this. It was far too large so I had it taken in to fit more like a sport coat. I love it. It's quite warm and cozy considering the thickness, which is owing to the velvet.

This chore coat will be in my rotation for years to come. The fit and finish are exemplary and draw compliments every time I wear it. Well done.
