Italian Linen Silk Sport Coat in Burlap

The perfect sport coat to see you through the season. This is our laidback take on a classic blazer: no stuffy padding, no hot lining, only relaxed, rakish charm. It’s made from Italian linen in a subtle herringbone — the perfect, breathable choice for keeping your cool on hot commutes and at summer weddings. We gave it a triple-shot of sprezzatura with a few details found in Neapolitan tailoring: a natural shoulder, double vents and a chest pocket known as a barchetta (Italian for “little boat”) because it resembles the curve of a skiff. The classic fit makes this a sartorial Swiss Army Knife: try it with an Oxford and a smart silk tie at the office or off-duty over a sweater polo with a pair of chinos.

Luxe Mesh Tank in Bisque

Mesh is having a moment, so Todd designed this subtle nod toward the trend in a luxurious Italian yarn. Solid enough to wear on its own and a great way to add texture to your looks as a baselayer, it’s an extremely versatile (and fashion-forward) layering piece. It’s made from a blend of cotton and nylon — the nylon helps keep the fine mesh stitch tighter and lighter than pure cotton would allow for, giving it an elevated-but-athletic feel. This tank has a slim (but not tight) fit that looks especially chic tucked into high-waisted pleated pants. FYI: the tank top is named after a sleeveless bathing costume that caused quite a stir when it was worn by the British Women’s Swim Team at the 1912 Olympics; at the time, swimming pools were also called swimming tanks, and the name stuck.

Our denim comes in distinct categories (Stretch, Selvedge and Small Batch), for the same reason that sometimes you want an artisanal sipping whiskey, and others a draft beer. The Relaxed Fit Canvas Lightweight Denim is part of our Small Batch series. It is loaded with quality details including a shank button fly, oxidized rivets, chain-stitched embroidery, a selvedge locker loop inside the back waist and selvedge outseams. So when you turn up the cuff, you’ll see the giveaway red ticking on the edge. Crafted from a Japanese Selvedge denim that is spun on old-fashioned shuttle looms, this is woven from a natural white cotton yarn that hasn’t been dyed, so the color is more of an off-white. The weight is an ounce lighter than our typical jean making it a chic choice for spring-summer.

Known throughout the world as the very best in English elegance, Sanders & Sanders shoes are a reflection of over a century of craftsmanship. This is a classic example of their practical-meets-refined approach. It’s a traditional penny loafer, named because the slot in each strap allowed just enough space to tuck a penny, the cost of a phone call in the 30s. The suede uppers sit on top of a crepe sole, which we like for its flexibility, ability to absorb impact and excellent traction. This lighter shade of suede works beautifully with warm-weather styles, but we have colleagues who wear it year-round.

Sanders & Sanders was established in 1873 by brothers William and Thomas Sanders of Rushden, Northamptonshire. What began as a five-person workshop grew over the years to become one of England’s most renowned shoe factories. Today, the business is in the hands of the fifth generation of Sanders’, who are still producing their exceptionally high-quality boots out of the same Spencer Road factory they’ve been in since 1924.
