The Derby is a comfortable and versatile shoe. Todd referenced Tricker’s archival designs for his take on this classic, which features a chunky sole and pebble leather upper. The leather is extremely unusual — known as “Olivvia,” it comes from a renowned tannery in Germany. The high-quality leather is sustainably tanned using a unique liquor made from olive leaves; the leaves are otherwise a waste product, and what remains after tanning is used as fertilizer.
Family-owned for five generations and founded in 1829, Tricker’s still makes its leather shoes the old-fashioned way in Northampton, England. Fun fact: since 1989, Tricker's has held a Royal Warrant for shoe manufacturing awarded by His Royal Highness, The Prince of Wales.
