A denim classic!
I have been a fan of Todd Snyder's clothes for many years now. I am impressed with the fabric and the design details employed in the making of this high quality engineer coat. I like the 4 pocket symmetry that firmly keeps it in the work wear category and so it does not try to be a sport coat or chore coat that has typically 3 pockets and a more refined aesthetic. With the Western craze in fashion circles seeing a glut of designer denim pieces with price tags many times higher than this piece by TS, I know this piece is worth its full retail price . Other designers are incorporating too many cliche Western details that will date them and those clothes will fall out of the fashion trend cycle quickly, but not this piece. A restrained hand kept the interesting details like the curve to the cuff on the sleeve or the reinforced overstitching on the deep lower pockets not being overly embellished with a Western flair. This coat is destined to be a timeless American denim classic like the denim trucker jacket and just as versatile. I can see that it will only become better with time and be a cherished piece in a core casual capsule collection. The only thing to watch out for is the sizing. The fit guide has recommended to me with a 5' 10" body of 145 lbs and a 38 inch chest to buy a size M, but I'm glad I looked at the actual measurements of the article of clothing and I ended up with a perfect fit for me at 68 years old with the shoulder ending at the end of my…
