Our classic Deck Shirt gets a cold-weather update in luxe Italian velvet. In terms of fit, it falls somewhere between a shirt and an overshirt. It’s roomy enough to layer over tees and sweaters like the latter, with all the traditional detailing you’d expect of the former: one large chest pocket, button cuffs and a clean camp collar silhouette. The velvet itself — which comes to us from Pontoglio, a 63-person mill on the banks of the Oglio river that’s been synonymous with fine Italian velvet and corduroy since its founding in 1883 — is supremely soft, and light enough to wear in lieu of a blazer when the weather’s warmer, or any time you want a more casual alternative to a dinner jacket.
