Ripstop is a military innovation, often used in uniforms and parachutes — it's woven using a special technique that creates a fine crosshatch pattern, making it both lightweight and incredibly resistant to tearing. The Jacket and Shorts are printed with a unique, tie-dye oil emulsion technique that (unsurprisingly) resembles oil on water, or a heat map.
