This relaxed take on the traditional Fair Isle sweater keeps everything you love about this classic style and none of the things you don’t. Case in point: the 5-gauge, double-knit lambswool is rugged, but not scratchy. The earthy, geometric pattern takes its name from Fair Isle, a small island to the north of Scotland where this particular tradition of knitting originated. Design details include two hidden welt pockets and a modern, four-button front.
Fits as expected.
The fair isle pattern looks smart on this cardigan. The fit’s also quite flattering. Works in casual or work-casual settings equally well. When I paired with faded black jeans, tshirt and boots a coworker told me they loved it—a “cool retired rock star vibe”. I’ve struggled sometimes getting cardigans to work but this one’s a no-brainer.
