Italian Wool Double Breasted Officer Topcoat in Camel

I splurged with an end of year bonus and bought this jacket as I'd been looking for a camel topcoat for quite a while. After 2 months of owning this, the splurge was 100% worthwhile. I look for excuses to wear this coat as often as I can. Walking the dog? Yep. Walking to work in the snow? Yep. Date night out? Yep. Company holiday party? Yep. Grocery store in sweats on the weekend? Yep. This is a coat that's an investment, but feels like it will last a lifetime and is a good alternative to the 4 different winter puffys I tend to cycle through regularly.

The fit is on-point. Perfectly fitted (I'm 6'-0", 175lbs in a medium) in the shoulders, sleeve length, and room to layer underneath. The length of the jacket is a bit longer than others, hitting right at or below the knees - but I dig it. I've gone with a t-shirt on underneath if it's warmer and also had it layered over a suit. There's 2 sets of buttons - 2 on the interior breast if it's freezing outside, and 3 outside. The handwarmer pockets may be the most underrated feature of this coat. I use them constantly for keys, wallet, etc. This is the first Todd Synder piece that I purchased, but it definitely won't be the last.

I absolutely love the architecture of this garment, and the thought that went into it! To name a few points: the broader lapels, the patch pockets, coupled with the hand-warming pockets, the half back belt, the bottom slit. My one critique is that I wish it were a deeper, richer hue of camel. One further note, the gentleman who helped in the Rockerfeller location, David Vizcaino, was frank, honest and very helpful!

This camel topcoat is a dream, though when it first arrived I was rather upset with the packaging and appearance. After days of steaming it deep folds and wrinkles, and then a few weeks to break it in, all the hard work paid off. This piece is the chameleon of winter layers, and can easily elevate a casual outfit, or comfortable layer over a suit.

When I got it, I was thrilled as I was a little apprehensive the camel was going to be too lite, but it was just the right shade and overall a beautifully made product; however, it was not the plain topcoat. It was the Savant Snyder collaboration with all of the bright colored embellishments to make it look like an old repaired jacket. Unfortunately, now the coat is sold out in my size. I’ve already returned it and sent a heads up to TS concierge. Hopefully they will respond accordingly.

I've been seeking a camel coat to add to my winter wardrobe for some time. I've bought one previously for the style and affordable price, but I got what I paid for. Decided to actually invest in a good quality piece and opted for Todd Snyder.

I'm pleased with the purchase. I love the versatility. I can do a grocery run, throw this on in some fitted sweats and a hoodie and it fits so well. Quality of the material feels and looks very good, although for the price I think it could be one step above.

I'm 6'3, 190lbs and the medium fits snug and fitted if you intend on layering it with a thicker hoodie.
